Minimising Maximum Demand
When a consumer pays for maximum demand, (kVA), we check the kVA consumption graph for each of our clients in an ongoing way, to look for patterns of use which may be ineffective and inefficient and advise them accordingly. It is also called, minimising maximum demand. Scheduling the use of intermittent equipment is a wonderful way to minimise maximum demand. Improving Power Factor Correction reduces kVA and removes kVAr due to electromagnetic fields causing phase shifts between Voltage and current sine waves. Remove harmonics causes by variable speed drives, electronic equipment, UPS systems, Computers, electronic fluorescent ballasts, Microwaves, rectifier units for electroplating and many many more. Harmonics is increasing at an alarming rate because of the rate at which electronic starters and speed controllers, computers etc are entering the market and causes overheating and nuisance tripping of circuit breakers, motors and transformers.
